Brandon Sloan came in 16th at the State 4A Cross Country meet at Soda Springs last Saturday.
Sloan, a junior, finished the course in a time of 18:23.66.
Mountain Home Tiger cross country coach Doug Root was pleased with Sloan's effort at the state meet.
"He led the race for about the first half of the race. He ran really well. It was a tough day to run. The weather was rainy and snowy, cold and blowing, but Brandon ran well. I'm real pleased."
Root will lose just Lawrence Johnson to graduation, so hopes to build on the numbers for next year.
"We hope to do some heavy recruiting for next year and try to increase our numbers."
