Tiger boys golf team places 4th

The Mountain Home Tiger boys golf team tied for fourth in the its first SIC 4A golf tournament at the Gem County Golf Course in Emmett last Thursday.

The host Huskies won the boys action, shooting a 163 over nine holes, one better than Bishop Kelly.

Vallivue finished third with a 172, while Mountain Home and Caldwell both came in at 178. Kuna finished last at 183.

Bishop Kelly's Zane Lujack was medalist, shooting a 37, one shot better than Emmett's Jake Lyter.

Mountain Home's Shawn Griffin finished third, just two shots back of Lujack, with a 39.

Other Tiger efforts at the meet included a 42 by Joe Rebon, which tied him for 9th. Nick Trueba shot a 48, good for 21st, a stroke ahead of teammate Layne Short, who finished 22nd.

Kuna won the girls competition at Emmett, shooting a 210 in action played on March 29 at Emmett. Their 210 total was five shots better than Vallivue, and seven ahead of Bishop Kelly. Mountain Home, Emmett and Caldwell did not have complete teams.

Kuna's Ellie Brown and Melissa Hisel topped the girls field, shooting 44, a stroke ahead of Mountain Home's Mallory Rhead, who came in third.

Mountain Home's other golfers were Kylie Lippert, who carded a 65, one shot better than teammate Carlotta Vaugh.

The Tiger boys were at the Dale Mowrer Jerome Invitational Golf Tournament at Jerome's 93 Golf Ranch last Friday, finishing 12th out of 14 4A teams competing. Bishop Kelly won the 4A competition, shooting a 300 over the eighteen holes, some 49 shots ahead of Mountain Home's 349 total.

The Tigers host the Mountain Home Invitational tomorrow (Thursday) at Desert Canyon Municipal Golf Course in Mountain Home.
