The Mountain Home Lady Tigers were hurt by the long ball last week in losses to Skyview and Jerome.

The Lady Hawks from Skyview had their missiles locked in on the basket last Wednesday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

Ashley Galeai hit three of her four treys on the night in the first quarter, as Skyview led 9-6 after a quarter. Galeai hit her fourth in the second quarter, and Jen Ward and Kendall Brenton also connected in that quarter, as the Lady Hawks built up their lead to 27-14 at halftime. Jen Ward hit three more in the second half, and Kendall Brenton another, as in all, Skyview hit 12 treys in the game, and won handily.

Mountain Home was led by Ali Hillman with eight points and 11 rebounds. Erica Stanton added five points, Des Walden scored three, Mallory Rhead, three, Michelle Reynolds, Amanda Bitterman, Amber Smith and Kylie Lippert each scored two points, and Shelby Wickmark had one.

Mountain Home shot just 24 percent (9 for 38) on two-point shots, and were 0 for five on three-pointers. Skyview was 12 of 27 (44 percent) from long range, and just 33 percent (9 of 27) inside the arc. To put the effort by Skyview into perspective, they hit 12 three-pointers in one game. The Lady Tigers have only hit 14 of 52 attempts (27 percent) on the season, and that's in eight games.

On a positive note for the Lady Tigers, the Skyview game marked the return of Amber Smith to the lineup for the first time this season. The 5' 10" senior tore her ACL before this year's volleyball season got under way.

"We're excited, and she's real excited (about being back), and that adds another dimension inside," said Coach Kohring.

The visiting Lady Tigers from Mountain Home were no match for the hosts from Jerome Saturday night in Jerome, as the hosts shot out to a 27-5 first quarter lead, and led 43-12 at halftime.

Erica Stanton was the only Mountain Home girl to reach double figures in scoring. The sophomore guard scored half of Mountain Home's 24 points. Shelby Wickmark scored six points, Michelle Reynolds netted three, Christa Stanton, two, and Amanda Bitterman, one.

The Lady Tigers travel to Bishop Kelly tomorrow (Thursday) night, and host Caldwell on Friday night. After the Christmas Holidays they face Wood River on Jan. 3.
