Cross country team places sixth
The Mountain Home Tiger cross country team continues to show improvement from week to week.
Last Tuesday, the Tiger harriers ran at the Crosby Invitational at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Ore., and came in sixth out of 11 teams.
Alvaro Salas was the first Tiger runner across the finish line, coming in 12th, just ahead of teammate Brandon Sloan, who was 13th. Tim Whitmarsh came in 36th. Daniel Kaiser finished 43rd, and Lee Pierce was 50th.
"The guys did a great job," said Mountain Home cross country coach James Gilbert. "That's the first time we've beaten Kuna in three years. Lee Pierce, had a huge personal best time, and our other guys did well. It's good to see the way they keep improving."
In the girls competition, Cathy Gilbert and Bethany Glidden finished 51st and 52nd.
This Friday the Tigers will host the Mountain Home Invitational at Desert Canyon Golf Course.
