On Jan. 24 at 1:17 p.m. Ron Martin reported two male subjects to dispatch, who he believed had broken into his neighbors home. Law enforcement was dispatched and the two subjects were apprehended. Sgt. Smith of the MHPD sent Sheriff Mike Hollinshead a letter making him aware of the situation and he, along with MHPD Chief Scott Conner, decided to recognize Martin for his quick thinking...

On Feb. 6 House State Affairs introduced legislation to gerrymander Idaho by changing voter districts to further favor Republican candidates. Currently, districts are drawn by the independent Citizen’s Redistricting Commission. The MHHS Girls Basketball team is headed to the state tournament after a thrilling win over Preston on Feb. 7. Not only did Blanksma score the winning point, but she was also recently recognized for scoring a 1,000 points in her career as a Tiger. Gilberto Hernandez Sanchez, 49, of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019. Arrangements under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

After a two day process the jury has been selected in the Scott Rigg's case. The trial is set to begin next week. Riggs is accused of murder in the first degree.
