In 2006 the Mountain Home Fire Department hosted the first Idaho Volunteer Fire Emergency Services Association training. For the last several years the conference has been held in Donnelly, ID, but the small town decided to opt out of holding it in 2018. Norma J. Dart, age 73, of Mountain Home and Prairie, passed away on August 31, 2018, at a Boise care center. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on October 6, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 11918 W. Ustick Rd, in Boise. Howard Bailey Waterman, 92, of Mountain Home, formally of Payette, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2018, (exactly 8 years to the day that his wife passed away) at the home of his daughter, Joy Snider (David). Howard was born on August 27, 1926, in Boise to Howard E. Waterman and Agnes Bailey Waterman.
