The American Solar Challenge has been running every two years since 1987. The goal of the challenge is to complete a predetermined route in the lowest overall elapsed time. On July 20 teams stopped for their seventh checkpoint on the journey. The solar cars and their teams must pass inspections and a qualifier known as the Formula Sun Grand Prix before they are chosen to participate in the roughly 1,700 mile journey which travels along portions of the Oregon Trail. ...

The Mountain Home Historical Society recently hosted an "Adventure Camp" at the Mountain Home Historical Museum. Children ages six to eleven learned about cowboy games and dialect. "In our effort to preserve our local history we also strive to educate," Museum Director Debbie Shoemaker said. " We have partnered with Mountain Home Parks and Recreation Department annually for their 'Adventure Camp' and are pleased to be part of this wonderful program."...

Ronald “Brent” Taylor of Glenns Ferry, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on Sunday morning, July 22, 2018, just as the sun illuminated Bennett Mountain outside his living room picture window. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Glenns Ferry High School.
