Elmore Extension Celebrates Pollinator Awareness Week at Farmer’s Market

It is estimated one-third of all foods and beverages are delivered by pollinators. In the U.S., pollination produces nearly $20 billion worth of products annually. National Pollinator Week was designated June 18-24, 2018 by the Pollinator Partnership. It was created to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. Elmore County cat recovering from plague infection

Laboratory tests indicate an Elmore County cat was infected with plague. The cat had recent contact with a rodent, which may have been a ground squirrel, or “whistle pig,” before becoming ill. The cat was treated promptly by a veterinarian and is recovering. No additional pets or people are ill.
