Ralph W. Binion III, commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5423 in Mountain Home, presents a certificate to Jamie Rojos after the Mountain Home High School junior won the local Voice of Democracy contest, held recently. Rojos, who earned the honor for her speech titled, "My Responsibility to America," went on to compete at the VFW's regional-level event, where she earned an honorable mention. ...

Representatives with the Elmore County Relay for Life are joined by employees with the Mountain Home Wal-Mart as they present a check for $6,249 to benefit this year's cancer awareness event. Sponsorships and additional team donations allowed the local retailer to raise money for the American Cancer Society during the 2016 Relay for Life. ...
