A nationally recognized expert on reptiles and other creatures returns to Mountain Home on March 16 for a free presentation at West Elementary School. Corbin "The Reptile Guy" Maxey, the will present his cast of amazing animals at 6 p.m. that evening in the school's gymnasium. Idaho Fish and Game officials spent an unprecedented effort this winter feeding big game animals across southern and eastern Idaho, but department officials emphasized that it relied on sportsmen and private landowners to tackle this challenge. "Dozens of sportsmen have helped transport and deliver feed, and several landowners have either directly helped with feeding or allowed feeding to be conducted on their property," said assistant chief of wildlife Brad Compton. ...

Ronald D. Minic, 79, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, after a short illness. He choose to be cremated, and there will be a memorial graveside service at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Cremation Society of Idaho.

Kenneth James "Jim" Casey, 53, of Bruneau, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. March 18, 2017, at the Bruneau Legion Hall. Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Mattie Louise Ramsey Black of Bruneau and Grand View passed away March 8, 2017, in Caldwell at the home of her daughter Paula and son in-law Jim's home. Mattie was born Aug. 24, 1917, in Little Valley, Idaho, to Mat and Lottie Dunham Ramsey. She attended grade school at Little Valley Beehive School and graduated from Bruneau High School in 1936. ...

Marion Elizabeth Grimmett, 85, of Mountain Home, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, at St. Luke's Elmore Long Term Care. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1150 North 8th East St., in Mountain Home...
