An Elmore County woman has tested positive for West Nile virus, becoming the first person in the state to contract the disease this year. According to an advisory released by the Central District Health Department on Friday, the woman, who was reported to be in her 30s, is at home recovering from the virus.

The FBI reported on Friday that a Montana teen reportedly abducted on Aug. 3 was found safely in Casper, Wyo., on Friday. Authorities issued an Amber Alert to enlist the public's help in tracking down Sandy Moore, 16, who was reportedly abducted by Rodney Zahn, 60.

Fred T. Silva, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Life Care Center in Boise. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home, and burial will follow at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry. There will be a celebration of life after the services at the Moose Hall in Glenns Ferry at 2 p.m.
