Dear editor, I agree with both letters in this week's paper (June 15 Mountain Home News), but I want to comment on Jim and Karen Bird's letter. I am in total agreement. Years ago, I was a volunteer for the WECRD. I personally canvassed my neighborhood and beyond to collect signatures to determine those in favor of building a rec center. It was not an easy task to do because I am handicapped (I had polio in 1952)...
