Local firefighters battled a brushfire on the corner of Frontage Road and Canal Road in Mountain Home on Monday afternoon. It appeared as if the fire was under control a short time later. A call to Elmore County Emergency Dispatch came in around 1:30 p.m. concerning a brushfire on Frontage Road. Darlene Rae Chaney, 74 years old and beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at St Luke's Elmore Medical hospital in Mountain Home. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Butte, Mont., on June 27.
