Jackie Marsh holds up a homemade apple pie that was up for bid during the Mountain Home Historical Museum's annual pie social Aug. 18. The event auctioned off 51 pies along with 13 cakes during the afternoon with the proceeds going to support the local museum and the historical events it holds throughout the year. Kari Pearson took top honors in the apple pie baking contest with Felicia Shoemaker finishing second overall and Jan and Sheryle Landon rounding out the top three...

Julia Loretta Brown, age 84 of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at a Mountain Home care center. Per her request, no services will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Dan Noble Blankenship, age 95 of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at a Mountain Home care center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.
