The annual free Concert in the Park series will kick off next week with the Neckid Rednecks appearing in Carl Miller Park from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, July 12. Those attending the free concert are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for seating around the stage near the F-111 static display. Due to the low snow pack and early snow melt, recreation facilities in the high elevation Trinity Lakes Recreation Area opened Tuesday, July 2, about two weeks earlier than normal. Jack Eugene Hale, formerly of Mountain Home, Idaho, passed away June 9, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nev., at his home, of natural causes. He was born to Gordon and Phyllis Hale on Dec. 11, 1949, at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. While Jack was growing up he loved to play sports. His passion was baseball and football.
