UPDATE: I-84 reopens

Another portion of the interstate reopened at 1:45 p.m. today, Jan. 24, after a winter storm prompted Idaho Transportation Department to close the highway early this morning. The Idaho Transportion Department completely reopened the eastbound lanes of the interstate, although the westbound lanes between Mountain Home and Bliss remain blocked at this time.

Potato plant plans on hold

A potato processing plant in Mountain Home remains at a standstill after the company's restructuring plan led to the loss of 15 local jobs. Storm prompts school closures; base limits duty reporting

The Mountain Home and Glenns Ferry school districts have canceled classes at schools across both districts today, Jan. 24, due to road conditions that are expected to clear later. Meanwhile, officials at Mountain Home Air Force Base have told airmen and civilian employees living off base to stay home due to the icy conditions while those living on base are asked to contact their supervisors for reporting instructions.
