Troop 57 takes 'camporee' honors

Boy Scout Troop 57, sponsored by the First Congregational Church, recently participated in the Oregon Trail District's Fall Camporee. Troop 57 did well, placing first out of 11 troops overall. The camporee (a skills-based competition for the Scouts) is the first fall camporee of the newly formed Oregon Trail District. Competition activities included fire building (using flint and steel), archery, orienteering (compass course), first aid and tying a "human bowline knot."...
