The Mountain Home High School Band Boosters and members of the Marching Tigers are trying to raise funds to help with replacement costs for new color guard flags and drum heads for the drum line. "Band equipment isn't cheap and we will need to raise about $1000 for these two items," said Walt Rueger the band booster's director of fundraising. The car wash will be held August 13 at the Pizza Hut on Air Base Road from 11 am to 3 pm...

Richard Hugo passed away Aug. 3, 2011, at the age of 89, at Good Samaritan Society in Boise. Born June 19, 1922, in Moscow, Idaho, Richard is survived by his younger sister, Priscilla (Hugo) Querry, of Olympia, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews...

Alan Wayne Parsons, 72, of Hammett, formerly of Wendell, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, in a Kuna care facility of natural causes. Arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Society of Idaho.

Susan Elizabeth Groves Hammett, 70, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at a Boise hospital. Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, with a memorial services at 10 a.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, followed by 3 p.m. inurnment services at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise...

Wava W. Martin, 93, of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at her home. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

The Mountain Home Historical Society will host its 10th Annual Pie Social on Tuesday, Aug. 16. This year, the group is hosting a Peach Pie Baking Contest and is inviting bakers to take on the challenge. Contest pies must be at the museum by 3 p.m. on Tuesday and in glass pie dishes with the maker's name and contact information, as well as where the ingredients were purchased (ten percent of the criteria is the use of local ingredients)...
