Barbara A Robins of Garden City, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away April 12, 2011, following a short battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are sent to St. Luke's Hospice, Boise, in Barbara's name. Services are pending...

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in solving a case of vandalism that occurred at the Elmore County Fairgrounds between March 25 and 30. Vandals broke into the food concession building and proceeded to vandalize the interior. The scene indicates there were at least two and possibly three people involved. The locking mechanism on the door was broken and a window had been pried open. The vandals also took the fire extinguisher...

Members of the Mountain Home community paid tribute this week to a local physician who cared for generations of patients here. Dr. A. Wakelee Bledsoe, 60, died April 5 following her battle against leukemia. A Hammett resident, she started providing care for Mountain Home children in 1984...

Class sizes will be going up in the Mountain Home School District and programs will be cut, along with teachers and administrators next fall, as a result of decisions made by this year's legislature. Superintendents from school districts in southwestern Idaho will meet with state Superintendent of Public Education Tom Luna on April 25 to learn about the new state laws for education and get the final numbers for the funding they will receive this year from the state...

June 23, 1939 - April 12, 2011. Barbara passed away at her home in Garden City, Idaho, surrounded by her family, following a brief battle with cancer. Barbara was born and raised in Worcester, Mass. She had two sisters and a brother. In 1956 she met William (Art) Robins. She was 18 and he 19. They married within eight months. Many said it would never last due to their age, but 54 years later they could say they proved them wrong...
