Dear editor: Recently our Idaho legislature's Health Care Task Force split 7-5 in favor of a resolution opposing the big health care bill passed by the Obama administration. In committee Mr. Corder stood up and said, "I believe that we should support the policy of our governor, which is the policy of most of us, by the way, but I think we should make sure these numbers are right." (The governor's position was to oppose the health care bill.)...

Dear editor: The recent letters supporting Marla Lawson demonstrate the lack of fiscal conservatism in the right wing of the Republican party, the tea party. What are you conserving, your personal income? If we cut out a form of revenue for the state it makes the state vulnerable to fluctuations in the economy. Haven't they heard of the three-legged stool -- income tax, property tax, sales tax? This is how our state stabilizes its revenue over the years...

Dear editor: My name is Paula Barnard. I am a resident of Lowman, ID. A native Idahoan raised in Mountain Home. I am writing in response to the letter that was published about me by Larry Heinen. Obviously, he printed gossip and lies about me. He never called to speak to me directly. He only spoke to the Lawsons, as his letter mirrors Marla's letter. I printed the facts. Several people in Lowman and Mountain Home have contacted me encouraging me to write a response to his accusations...
