While efforts continue to build a community recreation center in Mountain Home, city leaders and volunteers pursue options to find a new home for the Mountain Home Youth Center. A non-profit organization, the youth center opened in June 1990 to promote a safe, drug-free environment for youngsters and teens in the Mountain Home area...

Johanna D. Harney, 80, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at a local care center. No services will be held at her request. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

John Cliff Sanford, 80, of King Hill, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at his home in King Hill, from cancer. He was with family and friends. A viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, from 4-7 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Funeral services will be held at the VFW Hall in Glenns Ferry, on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, with a viewing from 9:15-10 a.m. and services beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry...

Ban Righ Nora Lynn Hatchett passed to the Summerlands on the harvest moon to sojourn with those she loved, attended by those who loved her. Cooled by their touch and warmed by their love. In the end, it was her love that strengthened and healed.
