Richard Earl (Dick) Mahon, Sr. passed away at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, ID on May 12, 2009. He was born on the Historic Mahon Ranch in Elk Grove, CA on January 12, 1926 to John William and Bertha Mae (Nelmes) Mahon. He graduated from Elk Grove Union High School and earned an athletic scholarship to Stanford University...

A home on East King Lane in King Hill was completely destroyed by fire last Saturday evening. King Hill Rural Fire District was dispatched to the scene at approximately 5 p.m. The home, belonging to Doug and Denise King, was fully engulfed in fire when fire crews arrived. Fire Chief Bob Janousek said the house is a total loss.
