Wind power should be focus
(Letter to the Editor ~ 05/06/09)
Dear editor: "The answer....is blowing in the wind." I don't believe Bob Dylan had our current energy concerns in mind when he sang the song way back when, but it definitely rings true at the moment. I'm a relative newcomer to the area and I have become fascinated with the debate on the rezoning and proposed nuclear power station. ...

If it's OK to torture some, then anyone can be tortured
(Letter to the Editor ~ 05/06/09)
Dear editor: I know that some lives could be lost by not torturing others, but principles do not compromise and neither should we. International protections against torture are there for everyone, not any one single group. Should an American be captured and tortured, our country would have both legal recourse and the TRUE INTEGRITY to prosecute the offenders. We should not have a double standard where torture is "OK" for some and not for others...

Snake River Alliance offers its rebuttal to Gillispie's letter

Without Yucca build no plants

Dear editor: I have never been an opponent of nuclear energy. If handled properly it could be the energy answer of the future.
