Energy policy critical
(Editorial ~ 06/11/08)
Another "economic stimulus" package is being proposed by some members of Congress and Sen. Obama. Like the last one, which we just got, we're not going to turn down the government any time it wants to give us some of our money back (assuming they make cuts in programs to match the "return" so we're not going to just have to make it up with higher taxes next year). ...

City needs to do a better job fixing potholes
(Letter to the Editor ~ 06/11/08)
Dear editor: I would like to know who thought they could fix the giant potholes throughout town with 3/4 road mix. This would be a great idea if no one was to ever drive over them again or it was never to rain again. I understand this is supposed to be a temporary fix, but when this is the same fix year after year it makes me wonder why we even pay taxes...

Possible solutions to oil crisis
(Letter to the Editor ~ 06/11/08)
Dear editor: We need to use every natural resource we have available to us to generate electric power. One way would be to save every bit of used oil we can and mix it with coal, which has been ground to the consistency of face powder, some wood alcohol, and a little water. This mixture would then be put in a pipeline and pumped wherever it was needed to heat water, making steam, which would generate electric power...
