Some came excited, some were apprehensive, but the first day of school for kindergarten and first-grade students last week was a big day for them, as they showed up decked out in their best back-to-school clothes and sporting the latest in backpack fashions...

Carl F. Hamilton, 85, of Mountain Home, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at a local care center. Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Christian and Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home...

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Welch of Mountain Home have announced the engagement of their daughter, Traci Leann Welch, to Alan Blair Johnson, son of Mr. and Ms. Alan M. Johnson of Mansfield, Ga.
