Local Business Climate, the state of

With the State of the State and the State of the Union this month, I thought I would throw this out for consideration.

A meeting of local business owners at the Manhattan Cafe on Friday the 28th of January at 8:00 a.m., that's tomorrow to discuss the state of business in Mountain Home.

I will use my finely honed skills as a news hack to report back if any one even shows up. Hopefully not so I can report back only my opinions.

I had a good friend, business owner in Austin Texas, describe running a small business as "hanging on like a cat on a screen door".

I had an uptick in business yesterday for who knows what reason, I can't predict it any more.

Hopefully this will be a forum to hear the good, the bad and the ugly.
