St. Paddy's Day
One last one before I head to to participate in the Battle for Amy's Boobies
(yep, there will probably be photos of the dinner of that later too)
We had kids over for St. Patrick's Day. Yep any excuse. Heck, I don't even need an excuse really to have kids over. What is life, if you can't enjoy the simpleness of time with children? If you let them, they can be such a Joy to you. When you are feeling down, a Child is sure to smile. They reach up their little hand to hold your hand as you walk along, and they trust you so much. Really, that's all you need in life. Trust them too
Of course, there is always playing outside. I don't believe in lots and lots of toys, but this big toy I bought several years ago, has paid for it self time and time again. It has been a fort, a fortress, a spaceship, a scary house, a ship, a faraway place, and much more.
I painted the ladder recently a 'chalk board', so they have a even more to do with it now. I was a bit worried that it would eventually just be a mess of chalk all over, with no where to write, but have since found, it washes away in the rain. I suspect more of it will be painted. I want to keep it in as good of shape as possible, so protecting it while making chalkboards seems like a plan to me. And it lets more of their creativity roll.
This trampoline was set up about 20 years ago, and has definitely seen better days. Oh, the memories it could tell, if only it could talk. I suspect it will be around for many more years, but I know I'll replace it when I have to.
The girls decided they wanted to make brownies, with green frosting of course, so, what's a Grandma to do? Make brownies with green frosting!
I was working with 4 children, but suddenly there are 5. Happens all the time
Must have a real meal before dessert you know. I'm a Grandma, but I'm not a softie without my rules~!
Wayne decides he is the Expert Green Frosting maker. I'm not at all sure what the looks on the kids' faces is all about. I'm not sure they are convinced of what is happening.
It does appear to be turning green though. He did it! he has a Green Thumb!
In the Midst of all the Shenanigans, we lost a tooth! St Patty's Day will now forever be also a Tooth Fairy Day
Bryce had decided that he didn't want a green brownies, because after all, Green Brownies? * Bleck....he wanted red. * He thought at first maybe yellow, changed his mind to red.... and lo' and behold, Grandpa got it done. Whoever said that women couldn't make up their mind......Craziness
They might not be the prettiest, but they tasted good....and they made them....that's what matters.
