Legeacy of Legends 2013 2
There is an amazing amount of "things" to look at, get your hands on, and wish for. Who doesn't want an original handmade Kent Frecker saddle? I know I do!
This is my friend Charlene (Georgia Peach) having Reata Brannaman sign the book that was in the Silent Auction. We had all the presenters sign the book, so, it became a "One of a Kind" that could only be got here.
This is actually the very first morning. Colts have yet to be handled by their new 'trainees' Buck is getting ready to start the morning
Buck demonstrates with Reuben, some of the exercises he would like to see done with the colts. Reuben is the colt that Reata started last year, during the Legacy of Legends.
Here they are their very first saddling, and looking just comfy as can be.
Then the saddles come off....no trauma.... just happy horses
Each Day, Buck did an Advanced Horsemanship class. Very interesting and inspiring to watch. These kinds of things always make me want to come right home and 'try that out" on my horse!
Wayne Robinson is one of the Countries Top Cutting Trainers you can find. I forget the exact numbers, but out of say 20 horses in the top 'of the game' this year, he trained 18. Do not quote those numbers, but that is about the percentage of the ones he had his hands on. We sat and had breakfast with he and his wife a couple of the mornings, and just listening to him and her both was an education I"m glad I had the honor of. He was a young kid in Australia when he was fortunate enough to meet Ray Hunt. In his own words, "My life changed that day" He worked with Ray some in Australia, and then later, Ray called him and said "come to America" Well, he did, and he settled into life in Texas. He'll be happy to tell you that "I am what I am, because of learning from Ray, Horses have such a better chance these days" That is said in a thick Aussie accent that he hasn't shed. He's just as nice a guy as you could meet, again, with great core values. They (he and his wife) drove all the way from Texas to participate in this event. Everyone is sure glad they did.
Want more???
