I hope you did a little research first before you posted that Republican Rhetoric. Most of what Dr David Barton writes are misquoted and twisted around, however this piece was more of his OPINION which comes off as what I said Republican Rhetoric. :)

Ms Marilyn....No, I didn't research. The title of this blog says "I read this and liked it"

So, it's MY opinion too..... of how I FEEL. I don't need to research that. I never said it was factual, but I agree with it, in OPINION. I NEVER on any blog said that I'm a political person. I don't make any apologies though, for my opinion EVER. And I only post things I really believe in

I never said anything about you needing to apologize, however don't let pride get in the way of apologizing to anyone about whatever was said.

That little word "pride" has ruined many relationships.

Its his opinion that you agree with, so be it. I was only pointing something out to you. You don't need to be defensive..... It's politics :)

I wasn't being defensive. I was just stating how I am about things. I'm not spontaneous in my actions, or in my speaking. Anyone who knows me well, will tell you that if I say something, I've thought it over, and I mean it. It's been a rare occurence in my life that I've felt a need to apologize for something I've said. And with that said, I will say that I HAVE apologized when I felt I needed to. And I was sincere about it. And yes, I'm dang stubborn and full of pride, as those same people will tell ya! LOL I wasn't saying I'd never apologize for what this blog says, just that I hardly ever feel a need to about anything that I've taken the time to state. I sound pretty righteous huh? Whatever

I've taken an "emotional and mental beating' from people I love at times, without saying anything. Because if I spoke too soon, it'd be mean and not really how I felt. Then the moment passes, and I let it go.

Still waters run deep, is talkin about myself and my Dad... and Mom. And I've told those who needed to know to "Never take my quiet for weakness"

With all that said.... we're good.... my opinion about some things are pretty well stated in this blog.

Have a good weekend, I won't discuss this further ...

  • You enjoy your weekend Jessie

Most women are opinionated and there is nothing wrong with that!

The reason I mentioned "Pride" was something a friend told me a long time ago. He is now deceased been for a long time. When his wife divorced him, he told me he wished pride hadn't gotten in the way of telling her "I'm sorry for the things I didn't do and for the things I did do" Maybe if he had they might not of divorced...

  • Jessie,

this was heartwarming. And I didn't see political leaning in it at all, just the spirit of what his opinion was . Which he is entitled to without labeling.

We can disagree without putting a political spin on it. He was pretty frank about where he stood. I for one, agree with him totally.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Many of us have had our moments of pride. But maybe the research that gets done isn't necessarily of the garden variety--but the garbage heap. Both of them are biodegradable, but only one appeals to our true nature. Only consolation is that eventually, the compost enriches the soil so that we can grow more healthy vegetables.

  • Ms Bird you must be wearing those rose colored glasses opinionmissy spoke of in another blog

You don't find this statement political

"I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that he is a one-term President ! "

You are correct we can disagree and I will!

  • Aw Buckshot61/Homerlookalike

That would be the Republicans your speaking about not the Democrats. That was some kind of dumb statement you made Just say Republicans for goodness sake. They have been trying to get back the house since day 1 Obama stepped inside the oval office.

Here's food for thought. If Gingrich gets the nod, and faces off with Obama don't you think the Republicans will loose the house? Remember the Republicans didn't like him there when he was the Speaker. Some might just back off when their term is over. Which is good to see Boehner gone and whats his name ! You know the old guy

  • No I think that his statement is just like the other statements of any one else who discusses the plight of this country and Who is Supposed to be in Charge.

If you can't do the job regardless of any prior hardship or handicap, you need to step aside and let someone else try.

All Presidents inherit a mess of some sorts, some of them succeed in getting results and others just keep campaigning for the next election.

Notice that I did not say anyone's name or party. I am simply stating a broad fact that is obvious to everyone.

Thank you again Jessie for sharing this.
