Those Pesky Black Bugs
I bet most of you who read this know what I am talking about.
My house has been invaded by them. We keep our doors and windows shut and they still sneak in. Sometimes I find them hiding behind curtains or hanging out on the floor boards of my house. No matter what room I go in I find them.
When you kill them they feel crunchy and they give off an awful odor. Someone told me they smell like Listerine, Ha Ha ! I don't think so.....
One hot day I noticed they were on my bedroom window on the outside, so I went out to take a look and my whole side of the house was covered in black bugs. I further investigated and found they were coming from the tree close to the house. The tree leaves were covered with those pesky black bugs.
We were told years ago when we bought our home that particular tree was an Oak Tree. I'm no expert on trees so I took their word "Its an Oak Tree". After doing some research about these bugs I read they are Elm Seed Bugs. So what are Elm Seed Bugs doing on my Oak Tree unless the Oak Tree is really an Elm tree ?
Here's a picture of our tree, you be the judge
These Pesky black bugs started moving in on us in 2012. I remember then I only found a few of them however each year they are coming in larger numbers by the hundreds. This year it has been the worse for us. I feel invaded !
Here's some information about those bugs http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2012/07/elm-seed-bug-overwhelms-idaho/
I have tried insect sprays to get rid of them, but just more show up. I tried spraying them with vinegar and for a couple minutes I thought I had killed them, but then seen they were only stunned temporarily.
When will they leave? I hate to think about more summers fighting off these Pesky Bugs
