The idea behind Robert's Random is for me to write about whatever I'm thinking about whenever I'm thinking it. I try to write 3-5 times a week, but sometimes real work gets in the way of that. Sometimes I'll share whatever random thought I might have that day but most of the time, I like to write about things going on in the news. I'm a total news junkie, I spend a lot of time online at various news sites. If I find a story where someone does something totally stupid or I wonder "what were they thinking?" I don't mind pointing it out incase others missed it or taking my best guess at what they were thinking. I like to laugh, I like to make others laugh. There's so much serious and wrong stuff going on in the news that when I find an unusual or light story, I like to use it. And while real life news events might be the focus of many of my blogs, I'm just trying to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even think about something you didn't know before reading. I'm not trying to break any serious news or deliver any hard-hitting coverage. You'll have to read a paper or watch one of the network shows for that.
The real reason GMC needed bailed out
The U.S. government recently paid approximately $50 billion to bail out GMC, which means the American tax payer now owns 60 percent of the company, or $167 worth each.
I would like to cash in on my $167. The least expensive car at the local Chevy, according to their Web site, is this $12,675 Aveo. They should let me have it for $12,508 and we'll call it even, effectively buying me out of my investment.
This is a fair deal. It's not like I asked to become a Chevy shareholder. I didn't call up the people at my bank and say "Hey, why don't we go buy us .002 percent of Chevy?!?" No, I was forced into this investment by this country's leadership, which is highly unfair. It's GMC's fault they got into this mess.
If they hadn't spent so much money developing a car that can go from this to this in about eight seconds, they probably wouldn't need the money.
Do you have any idea how much money it takes to design, develop and test a car that can turn into an alien robot-fighting machine at a moment's notice? I don't either, but I'm sure it's a lot.
Whatever it cost, it's a waste of money. First of all, how often does the world get attacked by robots from other planets? It hasn't happened in the 25 years I've been alive. It's a safe bet it's not about to happen anytime soon. Second, if anything the world ever does need saving, we all know there's only one person we'd need to call: Will Smith.
He's saved us from aliens, robots, drug dealers, aliens, bad dates, viruses, the NSA, would be president assignationers and did I mention aliens?
With Will Smith's extensive alien-fighting, world-saving background, there simply is no need for GMC to continue to invest billions of tax payers' money into cars that double as movie stars.
