My New Year's "Disillusions"
Many of us make New year's resolutions that we seldom keep. Probably a key reason I rarely make any. But because I'm probably not fooling anyone but myself, I'm calling this list my New Year's DISILLUSIONS.
I WILL make an attempt, though.......to:
Be nicer to "1A" plate drivers in Boise, by not yelling at them or "flipping them off"........(I will accomplish this by NOT driving to Boise as often!)
Refrain from laughing at teenagers I see walking around with orange spiked hair, and earrings everywhere.
Smile every chance I get, at people I don't like.......(makes 'em nervous!).
Read more comics and less news.
Try to teach the dog how to answer the phone, and bark at the telemarketers.
Try to add a flamethrower, an Abrahms tank and an Apache helicopter to the arsenal.
Get my wife's VW convertible finished by spring.
Stop intentionally "muffling" my voice when I use the drive-thru at Taco John's.
Listen to my wife and my doctor a little more closely.
Stop yelling, chasing and throwing pop bottles at the mailman's truck when he brings bills instead of sweepstakes winnings.
Keep better track of my reading glasses and car keys.
Stop making faces at the preacher while he's trying to give a sermon......(Naw, I don't really do that!).....but if he happens to read this, he'll be watching me!
Stop "passing gas" at Wal-Mart just to try to make the line shorter.
Get in a little more time at the range.
Start weining myself off this newer country music, and back to the OLD style rock 'n' roll I used to play.
Get the new headliner and door panels put into my '54 Bug.
