City, county officials discuss impact fees

Last week’s meeting with city and county officials followed a recent planning and zoning commission hearing regarding a request to increase the number of homes in the Turner House Depot subdivision near Optimist Park.

Urban development and its impact on local streets and infrastructure as well as its influence on increasing law enforcement and emergency services in the Mountain Home community headlined the discussion city and county officials discussed during a meeting July 23.

Held during the city council’s regularly scheduled meeting that evening, members of the council and county commissioners spent more than 90 minutes reviewing the guidelines and procedures regarding the impact fees developers and businesses pay under the provisions of the local Capital Improvement Program.
