Assassination attempt should unite this nation
Saturday, July 13, an assassination attempt was carried out, and President Trump was shot. All glory to God that he is alive and well after this incident. Sadly, one innocent bystander in the crowd died as a result, and others were critically wounded.
Hearing President Trump had been shot, I remembered when President Reagan was shot in March 1981. I remember exactly where and what I was doing: The entire country and the world stood still in horror that such an event had occurred.
Headlines soon followed – “Reagan Wounded” or “President Shot” were the most common.
The headlines that quickly followed President Trump being shot took a different route, “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at the rally, and Trump escorted away after loud noises at the rally” were some of the most outrageous.
This is an excellent example of the differences Americans face today. The media overwhelmingly has its preconceived narrative, regardless of the truth.
President Trump was shot, and an assassination attempt was carried out. That is the truth.
We also face government bureaucratic agencies persecuting political opponents whom President Trump is marked as their top priority. It is so bad that the U.S. House of Representatives has a committee reviewing the weaponization of the federal government. Representative Jim Jordan is chairman of that committee.
We now have the opportunity, after this incident, to unite not only as Republicans but to unite as Americans. We deserve a President dedicated to the American People, not to factions who hold radical, un-American ideals.
We need strength, unity and strong leadership to unite the country and restore the respect we previously had for our country on the world stage. I believe President Trump is the candidate who will accomplish these goals.
President Trump announced his pick for Vice President, J.D. Vance. This man is a great choice who will help drive America-first policies at the federal level.
Senator Vance is a U.S. Marine Veteran who has faithfully served our country. He has served Ohio with honor in the Senate, and he will be a great vice president.
President Trump has an important speech coming up at the RNC (Republican National Convention) on Thursday, July 18, as he formally accepts the nomination for president on the Republican ticket. This speech will be his first time speaking openly after being shot.
To what end, I do not know, but I do believe that God’s hand was involved in sparing the life of President Trump on that day.
Hold your loved ones tight. Tell and show those you love how you feel about them. Let us unite as neighbors and especially as Americans.
We must fight and work together to preserve our God-given rights and freedom. It begins now.
God Bless each of you, and may He hold you in His hands,
