Timothy Dean Garton
Timothy Dean Garton, 62, left this world to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 6th, 2023. He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in June of 2022. Through all of the surgeries and treatments he maintained his sense of humor, showed amazing bravery and was forever optimistic as cancer took over his brain.
Tim was born at St Luke’s Hospital May 25, 1960 to Robert W. and Pam Garton. Tim attended Bishop Kelly High School, then entered the Army. After the Army, he enjoyed traveling, eventually residing in Arizona, Colorado and Texas. His jobs varied from construction to a roustabout on an oil rig. He became a master craftsman: remodeling homes and businesses. His talents are visible at the Three Island Crossing Interpretive Center, Glenns Ferry, Idaho, custom work at the Kasino Club, Stanley, Idaho, supporting various projects for Enlightened Homes LLC of Sun Valley, Idaho. He was generous with his talent and time, supporting projects for friend and family, from custom flooring to decks and roofing. Tim could do it all.
In 2013 at the age of 53 Tim completed a dream of getting his GED. He was so proud of this accomplishment.
Tim loved his family, cooking, NASCAR and Harleys. He loved nature and spent a great deal of time camping, even opting to camp near job sites, sometimes out of necessity other time out of desire.
Tim never met a stranger. He was rich in friends, assisting anyone he could with his tool bags in hand, or a strong shoulder to lean on.
Tim was preceded in death by his beloved mom; Pam Garton, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his dad; RW Garton, sisters; Bobbie Jo (Rick) Navarro, Jackie Atkins, and Michelle (Brent) Stansell. Nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Kelly) Waldher, Derik (Anika) Standley, Courtney Knudsen, Randi (Josh) Moore, Tyler (Christy) Stansell, and Seth (Jessica) Stansell, and many great-nieces and nephews.
Our sincere thanks to Enlightened Homes for their endless support. Tim’s amazing care givers: The doctors and staff at St. Alphonsus. Tim’s St. Luke’s Hospice Team. There are no words to express our thanks for everything they did for Tim and our family. Life Care Center of Idaho whose love and care during his remaining days was priceless.
Tim’s private interment will be at later date.
