Mountain Home City Youth Council Meeting 3.6.23
On the afternoon of March 6th, the Mountain Home City Youth Council met at the Mountain Home Public Library. They opened their meeting with an ice-breaker, then moved to a report from Council President Tanner Sayer about the most recent Mountain Home City Council meeting.
Council Member Ryder Buell provided an update on the library’s most recent board meeting. With all the members up to date on the latest happenings within the city; the council began to discuss their bylaws and review the proposed changes sent to them by the city attorney. After a somewhat lengthy discussion, they elected to revisit the bylaws with Council Secretary Natalia Oldenberg taking charge in following up.
The council next reviewed flyers, plans for their social media and the creation of accounts, as well as graphics for t-shirts and stickers that would help the youth council reach more members of the community. The Council then discussed spending $200 of budgeted funds to sponsor a teen during this year’s additions to community canvas. The council ultimately voted unanimously to approve the sponsorship of a teen. After discussing future service opportunities within the community, the council adjourned their meeting.
