Mariflor Chan Bowen
Mariflor Chan Bowen, age 58, of Mountain Home, passed away at her home on August 23, 2022. No formal services are planned at this time. Cremation is under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Mariflor “Flor” was born in Olongapo City, Philippines on September 24, 1963, the daughter of Porfirio Chan and Flora Ornopia. Flor moved to the United States in 1990 to San Diego, California, and later to Elko Nevada.
Blaine Bowen and Mariflor met each other in 2014 and later married on October 19, 2019.
Flor loved to fish, camp and soak in all the hot springs she could find. She enjoyed time on the lake with the grandkids and other family members.
She also loved to garden. Growing vegetables and all manner of flowers and shrubs. She was always doing flower arrangements for every occasion or event. Flor loved traveling, singing karaoke, dancing and spending time with her grandkids and friends and family.
She was the loving shining light in so many people’s lives. Her beautiful smile and easy laughter will solely be missed.
Mariflor is survived by her husband Blaine Bowen, of Mtn Home, her sons; Maximillian and his wife Lindsey Guinto of California, Edison and his wife Nina Chan of Elko, Nevada, her seven grandchildren, and her siblings; Teri and her husband Joseph Jarvis of Elko, NV, Ray Chan of California, Danny and his wife Lulu Chan of Elko, NV, Christina Verhonich of Virginia, Edwin and his wife Cheryl Chan of Reno, NV and Zeny Pielago of the Philippines, and her sister in-law Fredelyn Chan of Elko, NV She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Freddie Chan.
