Doris Clara Johnson
Doris Clara Johnson, 85, of Mountain Home passed away quietly at home surrounded by her children on December 28, 2021. Cremation under the care of Rost Funeral Home at McMurtery Chapel. Services are being planned and are to be determined.
Doris was born on February 6, 1936 in Burntisland, County Fife, Scotland to Charles and Elizabeth Deaker. She met and married an American Airman on June 1, 1957 in Branston, England. Together they had 25 years of adventures living in Germany, California, Virginia, and then retiring in Mountain Home in 1976.
She was a kind, loving and thoughtful mother and was always there when she was needed to help or comfort others. Doris was the manager at the Salvation Army for many years in Mtn. Home. Doris loved to garden, to knit doll clothes and baby blankets, and to take trips to Jackpot to play. Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She traveled many times back to England to visit friends and family.
Doris is survived by her daughters Carol Queen of Mtn. Home, Sonja Whipple (Jon) of Boise, and son Robert Johnson of Mtn. Home. Her grandchildren; Matthew Queen (Mary Carraway-Queen), Brad (Christy Lyle-Whipple), Maegan, and Derek (Jacinth Stuart-Whipple) Whipple, and her great grandchildren, Shea of Boise, and Colt and Isabella Whipple. Doris is also survived by her siblings Douglas and Michael Deaker of the UK, and sister Joan Ann Hanning (Burt) of Scotland and their children Glenn (Debbie Debois-Hanning) and Linda of the UK.
