Message from Mayor Sykes
Mountain Home Citizens,
May 10-16 marks National Police Week. During this week, we celebrate the service and commitment of the officers and staff at the Mountain Home Police Department. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for all the men and women who serve our city as part of MHPD.
We have 32 officers and staff who strive daily to protect the citizens of our community. They are sometimes faced with potentially dangerous circumstances as they fulfill their promise to protect and serve, but their commitment to that ideal never waivers.
I also want to recognize the sacrifices and support of all their family members. Being the spouse, child, or parent of a police officer can be tough. They share the emotional and mental strain placed on their loved ones and their support is absolutely essential to those officers’ ability to focus on the innumerable problems we ask them to help solve every day. So to everyone in our extended family, thank you for everything you do so that our officers can continue to serve our community at the level of excellence that we have been so lucky to come to expect from them.
Today I am encouraging all citizens to take a moment to stop and thank a MHPD officer when you see him or her during your day.
Our officers and staff are true Mountain Home heroes, and we appreciate their every effort to make our city a safe place to live, work, and play. To every member of MHPD, thank you for all that you do.
