Robert (Big Bob) A. Ahlschlager

Robert (Big Bob) A. Ahlschlager passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. His wife was at his side. Bob was born May 14, 1938, in San Diego CA, to Pauline Ross Ahlschlager. His family relocated to Glenns Ferry, ID, in 1941 when he was three years old. After high school Bob resided in Sailor Creek for ten years where he spent his time farming. In 1972 he met his wife Darleen Thorpe, at Rocky Bar. They were married on July 8, 1972 in Mountain Home, ID at Darleen’s parents’ house. In 1974 Bob returned to Glenns Ferry and did odd jobs until landing a job with the Glenns Ferry Highway District. He worked there for 28 years before retiring to enjoy his favorite pastimes: fishing, hunting, and playing pool. Bob is survived by his wife, Darleen and son Jess Ahlschlager of Casper, Wy; brother, Benny Ahlschlager of Gold Hill, OR; grandchildren, Gage Strohecker, Tristan Ahlschlager, Alexis Ahlschlager, and Genevieve Ahlschlager. He was preceded in death by his mother, step father, three sisters, and one brother Tom Ahlschlager
