Continuance in Weaver case

A preliminary hearing was held for Ricky Weaver on Jan. 4. Weaver is currently being held on charges of Criminal solicitation to commit a crime (felony), battery on a police officer (felony), obstructing or resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the hearing Weaver’s attorney Michael Crawford asked Judge David Epis for a continuance due to the fact that he had been hired onto the case late and needed time to review the discovery.

Judge Epis agreed to give the defense a continuance in the case. During the next hearing the Weaver’s attorneys will also be asking for a reduction in the bond amount.

Weaver’s hearing will continue on Jan. 16 at 4 p.m.
