Tigers split double header to open season
Mountain Home High School's baseball team opened the season with a double header against the Wolverines of Wood River High School on March 9 in Mountain Home.
The Tigers won one and lost one to begin the year in two hard fought games.
The team lost game one 13-6 in a game that was a lot closer then the score appears.
They played well in the field and at the plate, but struggled on the pitchers mound. When the Tigers were successfully throwing strikes they looked very good giving up four hits and committing only one error.
Cody Wells and Matt Ybarra each had a successful first game with two hits a piece.
The Tiger's are a very young team that has had the tendency of starting out very slowly going back to the beginning of last season. It may take them a little while to get in the groove, but they are a confident group of athletes who always believe they are going to win.
