Two killed in trailer fire

Two people were killed after their mobile home on the north end of Mountain Home caught fire early Monday morning.

The fire was reported at 1:56 a.m. with the single-wide structure fully engulfed by the time crews arrived on scene, according to city fire chief Mark Moore.

The bodies of a man and woman were recovered from the residence after crews had extinguished the flames. No one else was inside the home at the time of the fire, Moore said.

The names of those killed in the fire were withheld pending notification of their next of kin. The fire department was waiting until sunrise before starting an investigation. As a precaution, the state fire marshal's office was also contacted.
