Kenneth Casey
Kenneth James "Jim" Casey, age 53 of Bruneau, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, with his family around him. Jim was born to Mike and Helen Casey on January 20, 1963. He was the youngest of five siblings.
He attended school in Nampa and worked for his father in the construction business. He had a strong work ethic even at a young age.
He moved to Bruneau where he started work for the ranches in the Bruneau Valley. He also worked construction for his brother in-law, Henry Ashby. Jim married Sandra Disher, and to that union a daughter was born, Tanna. Jim and Sandy farmed in the Emmett area; they later divorced.
He had an adventurous life. He worked as a guide in the back country mountains of the South Fork of the Salmon River, horse logged on Iron Mountain above Cascade, built a cabin in Cuprum, Idaho, but he always returned to construction work.
Jim met the love of his life Wanda "Sam" Paradis in 2005. They have been constant companions since then, living in Cuprum, sharing many years of hard work and adventure traveling to Montana and North Dakota and all over Idaho.
They returned to Bruneau to live, and at the time of his death, he was working for Knife River where he had many good friends.
Jim is survived by his father, Mike Casey (Sharon) of Prairie City, Ore.; Jim's love, Wanda "Sam" Paradis of Bruneau; his only daughter, Tanna (Sam) Rohrbacher; grandson Tyson Rohrbacher of Emmett; sisters Marilyn Jean Taylor of Nampa and Linda (Henry) Ashby of Mountain Home; brothers David (Tami) Casey of Spring Creek, Nev., and Duane (Deb) Casey of Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Casey.
Services will be held at a later date in Bruneau. Cremation is under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
