Two named as AFAD parade grand marshals

Alain Isaac and Ron Monasterio are joined by former Air Force Appreciation Day parade grand marshals Sue Gross and Billy Richie as they hold up a plaque signifying their selection as the grand marshals for this year's parade on Sept. 10.

Recognizing their years of service in support of the community's largest annual celebrations, a local couple was selected as this year's grand marshals for this year's Air Force Appreciation Day parade.

Alain Isaac and Ron Monasterio received the distinction during a chamber of commerce meeting Monday morning.

Continuing a tradition that began in 1970, selections for grand marshal are based on nominations from those who previously earned this distinction. It marked the fifth time in 46 years that two people were selected as grand marshals in the same year.
