WECRD board discusses budget, skate park

The Western Elmore County Recreation District is considering a partnership with the city to build a destination type skate facility that would be located in Legacy Park. The current plans call for a facility with a skate bowl, rails and obstacle park and a pump track similar to the artist rendition shown above.

The Western Elmore County Recreation District board of directors discussed various aspects of their upcoming fiscal 2017 budget while presenting more information about the possibility of funding a local skate facility while awarding a $5,000 grant during a meeting July 20.

After establishing a full quorum and taking care of regular business that included reviewing and authorizing the renewal of the district's Internet and website hosting service contracts, the directors voted to accept the proposed budget.
