UPDATE: Active shooter exercise completed

Law enforcement and emergency response teams representing multiple counties conducted an active shooter exercise Thursday morning.
The exercise began around a.m. at the old Good Counsel Hall building near Richard Aguirre Park.
Teams from the Mountain Home Police, Elmore County Sheriff's deputies, St. Luke's Elmore Medical Center, Elmore Ambulance Service and Mountain Home Air Force Base were involved in the exercise.
During the exercise, volunteers served as role players to help improve the realism of the training. Roads around the exercise training area were temporarily closed with traffic rerouted until it concluded around 11 a.m.
