Donald Bauer

Donald Allen Bauer, age 81 of Mountain Home, passed away at St. Luke's Elmore Medical Center on Sunday, May 8, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Per Don's request, no services will be held.

Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Don was born in Lead, S.D., on June 28, 1934 -- the oldest son of Henry and Kathryn Bauer of Mountain Home. He graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1952.

Don worked in housing maintenance in Florida and at Mountain Home Air Force Base, retiring in 2000. Don was Life Time Member of the Elks, Masons, Shriners and the American Legion. Don was known for his quick wit always liked to joke with people.

He is survived by a son, Allen Bauer of Las Vegas; a brother, Warren Bauer (Mona) of Mountain Home; a granddaughter, Amber of Omaha, Neb.; and a grandson, Jesse of Little River, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter and two sisters.
