Gregory L. Pruett and his mother, Carolyn J. Brennan, failed to return home after a Mother's Day drive in the mountains near Twin Springs on the Middle Fork of the Boise River.

Two Treasure Valley residents that went missing on Sunday in the mountains northeast of Mountain Home were located Monday afternoon.

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office received information that Gregory L. Pruett, 53, from Star, Idaho, and his mother Carolyn J. Brennan, 74, of Boise had made contact with their family around 3:15 p.m.

According to a statement released by the Elmore County Sheriff's Department, the pair ended up getting stuck in the mountains during a drive on Sunday. Pruett, an experienced outdoorsman, was prepared for the elements.

Both individuals were driving in Pruett's green 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara four-door, similar in appearance to the one shown here, with Idaho license plate number 1A 9F459.

He and his mother were able to get the vehicle unstuck and were then able to make phone contact with their family.

The sheriff's office extended its thanks to the Elmore County Search and Rescue, Atlanta Fire and The Idaho Air National for their assistance.

"We are very happy for this outcome," said Chief Deputy Mike Barclay.
