'Charge!'

Conner Poulin and Edward Ivie react as they joined dozens of younger children that made a dash across the East Elementary School playground during the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt held Sunday afternoon.

Sponsored each year by Sabre Lodge No. 7, Free and Accepted Prince Hall Masons, dozens of children and their parents braved the chilly wind and occasional sprinkling of rain in hopes of collecting their share of eggs. While the younger children searched the school playground, older children made a similar dash across Carl Miller Park to claim their share of Easter goodies.

Mercedes Pickering grabs a previously overlooked eggs placed on top of the fireplace in the center of the park. Organizers spread hundreds of hard-boiled and plastic eggs across the park with children swooping down and collecting all of them within a matter of seconds. Five of those eggs contained a prize -- a U.S. dollar coin.
Childhood friends Cainen Settle and Kayla Rebon rejoice after meeting one another following a separate egg hunt geared for participants with disabilities.
